About

The Vyazema Estate near Moscow is part of the Pushkin State History and Literary Museum-Reserve. The place was first mentioned in documents in the first half of the 16th century. The first known owner of Vyazma was Boris Godunov. The manor was a royal residence for almost 100 years. From 1694 to 1917, the estate was owned by the Golitsyn princes. The guests of Vyazma were Pavel I, Kutuzov, Napoleon, Gogol, Pushkin.

Vyazemye is a magnificent palace and park ensemble of the XVI-XIX centuries, including about 20 monuments: the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the bell tower of the XVI century, the palace and wings of the XVIII century, the stable yard and outbuildings, the park of the XVIII century, the Godunovsky pond with the remains of the dam.

An interior exhibition has been opened at the Vyazma Estate in the palace of the Golitsyn princes. It contains unique pieces of furniture from the XVIII—XIX centuries, the rarest porcelain from renowned manufacturers of the XVIII—XIX centuries, an exceptional collection of books from the XVIII—XIX centuries and much more.

The museum exposition in the palace introduces the atmosphere surrounding the nobility in the late XVIII — early XIX century. Exhibitions are located in the wings.

Sightseeing tours are conducted around the Vyazema estate. Children and adults can attend lectures, educational programs, interactive events, and concerts. The kiosks of the museum-reserve sell books, booklets and souvenirs.
